Default Fun/Different Warrior-Mesmer Build

Hello all. Here's a build that I've been playing around with and having a lot of fun with. Now I'm not claiming it's the new Iway or anything like that, but it is relatively effective and something different. It also uses only Prophecies skills (haven't bought the exp-packs yet).

Class: W/Me
Axe: 10+2
Strength: 9+1
Tactics: 7+1
Domination: 10

Gear:
Weapon: Cruel PVP axe of Fortitude with stance bonus
Off-Hand: Domination focus with the bonus for recharge times
Armour: Use the runes to get the plusses above for the attributes, one for reduced hex duration, then the plusses to health or energy.

Skills:
Warrior's Endurance - to regain energy
Dismember - apply the deep wound
Axe Rake - apply a cripple (cover the deep wound)
Power Spike - Interrupt + damage
Power Leak - Interrupt + e-denial
Utility Slot - (can be shatter enchantment, sprint, FGJ, distracting blow, axe-twist, executioner's strike, watch yourself, cry of frustration, bull/griffin strike etc depending on preference)
Healing Signet - Self Heal
Res Sig - no explanation required.

How to use:
This build is very effective against the caster classes, particularly the elementalists and necros with their longer activation times. Essentially you go after them and enter the War-End stance when your energy drops below 20. Dismember and axe-rake whenever they are charged up. Whenever your target tries to get a spell off (one that warrants interruption) fire off Power Spike/Leak to negate them (these are nice because you don't need to be adjacent to your enemy as with warrior interrupts or have a clear line-of-sight as with ranger interrupts). If you're good at toggling targets you can be attacking one and keep your eye on another for the interrupts. Warrior's Endurance gives you ample energy recovery to cover the higher cost of the mesmer spells. This build is not as high a damage dealer as some others but can complement one very well as it can render some casters useless.

This build takes practice timing the interrupts and you have to be good at out-anticipating your opponent. I've received a lot of compliments after matches (win or lose) from the enemy casters saying "Strange build but neat. Never saw that coming. 'Grats on your build"

As I said this build isn't the be-all-to-end-all but it's a nice break from the standards if you want to try something else.

There's a huge problem here - no speed boost.

Casters will kite often, and those 2 interrupts won't do much if you do manage to interrupt them. Smarter players will kite once you've activated an important stance (Warrior's Endurance in this case), and will start attacking once they think it's about to end. If you do bring a speed boost, it'll end Endurance and kill your energy.

12 axe master won't do much damage at all even with Dismember. This build just has too many flaws.

Since you're goin for an anticaster build, there's alot of better choices. Skullcrack isn't as bad as people say. Distracting blow + Savage Slash + Flourish could result in lots of interrupts and possible frustration for casters. KD warriors are pretty harmful to casters also.

I think you're getting the 'kite' method here all wrong...

This build WANTS you to kite. If you're not standing still, you're not casting anything right?

I've been kited a few times but last I checked, a kiter can't cast till they come to a standstill, now unless the caster your chasing has a speed boost [oh noes!], then you'd probably need to worry.

There's a cripple in there. So it's not ALL bad.

The utility slot will easily make up for the build's shortcomings, but it really depends on the fight at hand. One slot for anything you want is ALWAYS nice to know and have...

I LIKE this build. It breaks the mold of 'warrior MUST' do this role or he sucks. That and it's for fun so as long as it's not used under serious circumstances [like GvG or what not], then it's fine.

Obviously a mesmer pure will easily out 'interrupt' you as well as dmg warrior out damage you. But hey, you're trying to blend both which I think is unique and if people compliment you, hey, don't let jealous know it alls ruin your day ^_^

If you really eant interupts on a warrior, why not go with Distracting Blow and/or Skullcrack? At least then you could pack and IAS, and enough weapon mastery to be a asset to your team.
